Below is a photo of Violeta Jabari. Jabari means courageous in Arabic. I chose Jabari to honor my friend Muhamed who is Moroccan. He is very courageous. He spent ten years sleeping on park benches in DC without a home and one bag of belongings. Very often he felt unwanted and alone. Despite these challenges Muhamed still managed to have an open, positive loving heart in the world. I don’t know how he did that but I aspire to it. I learned a lot from him, and I still do, even though he is home now in Morocco. Muhamed is one of my heroes.

Spending time with Violeta inspires me to be a far better human being. She teaches me about what is important. I give her my respect and sincere appreciation. I must have done something right to get to hang out with her.

I mostly just call her coach which she seems pretty good with. Vi Jaya (another nickname) also plays a mean game of Jedi Tag. I am still trying to learn the rules as I am relatively new to telepathy. It is slow going and to date I am fairly sure I have failed to impress her. I can tell you that Violeta’s Jedi Tag involves two feet jumps, speed of light sprints, air twirls, and mosh-pit leg bashes. Any advice is welcome - particularly from kids - as they seem to be better at tag than most adults:). It must be stated that Violeta Jabari is also one of the very best cuddlers I know of (and I know some pretty good cuddlers).

One day I, Molly Jane Udaya Sturges, would like to win at Vi Jaya’s Jedi Tag. Is this too much to ask? I believe that on that day, my day of victory, Violeta will finally be impressed with me and that will make us both very happy.
